Study Trip to the Ukraine with Green Cross Switzerland and Kuoni

from 23.04.2012 until 27.04.2012 Chernobyl

People who visit the site of the worst civil atomic disaster in history – Chernobyl - are moved by the fate of the inhabitants and by the buildings which silently bear witness to the accident.

Kuoni Travel, together with the professional cooperation of Green Cross Switzerland, is offering an exclusive study trip to the site of the disaster in the Ukraine from 23 April until 27 April 2012. Price per person from 1,790 Swiss francs upwards.

Would you like to find out, at first hand, how the inhabitants around Chernobyl cope with the disastrous consequences of the accident and how Green Cross helps improve their living situation? The trip will be accompanied by Maria Vitagliano, director of the Green Cross programme Social Medicine.

Alongside socio-political insights, this unusual trip promises unforgettable encounters and cultural highlights.

Yes, I am interested in this offer (in further information and booking).

Green Cross Events – Don’t Forget

The “Green Cross Events – Don’t Forget” campaign has been designed and managed by event agency Zeitpol in cooperation with Green Cross Switzerland.

Today’s generation of young people no longer has any personal memories of military and industrial catastrophes such as Chernobyl or the Cold War. The Green Cross Events aim to remind the public of past events like these.

A total of four events with the theme “Don’t forget” will take place in 2010 and 2011. Their aim is not only to raise awareness for the long-term consequences of military and industrial catastrophes but also to stage celebrations with live music and typical meals and drinks. The proceeds from the events will be directly invested in the projects of Green Cross Switzerland.

On 26 April 2010, Ukrainian band Haydamaky performed in protective gear at Hirschenplatz in Zürich to raise awareness for the 24th anniversary of the reactor catastrophe in Chernobyl.
